Desktop Computers @ Shopwiki

As an IT professional, the major tool I need to accomplish my daily tasks is a computer. More than eight hours a day, I am in front of my desktop computer, whether I am in the office or I am working from home. It is vital for me that my computer is fast and capable to load several applications at a time. And of course, it is also a must that my keyboard and mouse are in good conditions and very convenient to use for long hours.

My husband is urging me buy a new set of keyboard and mouse because since I gave birth to my daughter, I’ve been experiencing pain on my wrist from time to time. There was even a time that I can’t moved my left hand without feeling any pain. And when I consulted an orthopedic doctor, he told me that the pain I was experiencing was due to CPS or carpal tunnel syndrome. My husband associated the pains with my keyboard and mouse I use. He is probably right. Especially, now that my mouse is not working properly all the time because it already fell on the floor several time.

We have been scouting for a good keyboard and mouse. We actually prefer the wireless keyboard and mouse. When I checked the different kinds of keyboards from Shopwiki.com, I realized that the split keyboard is the best for me because it helps reduce the chances of CPS. For mouse, I don’t have much specification except that it is ergonomic.

If you need help what mouse and keyboard is the best for you, you can check the shopwiki.com. You can also search shopwiki.com for the store that offers the best price. And of course, not only mice and keyboards are available at shopwiki.com, you can also search for Laptops and other computer peripherals offered by different stores.

Purse hooks

I am not really a purse collector but I buy one if I really need it especially if I need it for a special occasion. But because I seldom go out nowadays, I don't have much chance to use them. But I make sure that they are well-kept so when I need to use them, they are still in good condition. I use purse hooks to keep them off from the dirt of floor. The purse hooks I have are just simple hooks. But if you prefer more fancy and decorative purse hooks or purse hangers, you can visit localhardwear.com for their purse hooks collection.

Migrating to Word Press

I am in the process of migrating my site to Word Press. Since the rank of my current site returned to zero, I decided that this is the perfect time to migrate. I consider this event a blessing in disguise.

I bought a domain and hosting few months ago but haven't done anything on these yet., until now. I am planning to enter into hosting business. And since I will be selling hosting, it is only appropriate that my site is also hosted on my own hostingGrin.

My main concern before was how to migrate my post and comments. I will really regret if I will not be able to transfer my posts since I've invested so much time writing them but it will be very tedious for me if I copy-paste them one by one. And how about the precious comments I received, should I just leave them behind?

But my concern is immediately answered. Word Press has a tool to migrate all the my posts including the comments . The biggest problem is solved in no time at all.

I am still constructing the page elements of my new site but as soon as I've put everything in there from my current site, I will visit all of the sites in my blog roll to provide each one of them new link.

I hope to see you there soon!

WFW - Isaiah 40:8

I find this flower very beautiful and rare. The first time I saw this flower, I was really amazed of its beauty. According to the owner of the plant, it takes time before the plant yield a flower but its life would only last for a day. The flower fades as soon as the sun sets in the afternoon. What a short life!

But God's Word will never fade! It will remain fresh and true forever!
Glory to the God for His unchanging promises.

Please visit Forever His for more wonderful encouragement.

Tayong Dalawa New Schedule

I missed last night's episode of Tayong Dalawa because of some adjustments on schedule of the telecast. The usual pass 9 pm schedule is now 8:30 pm. Their previous time slot is given to Dahil May Isang Ikaw starred by Jericho Rosales and the pretty Kristine Hermosa. The premiere telecast of the said teleserye was last night.

When I turned on the television last night, I only caught the "bangan" part of Tayong Dalawa. At first I could not believe that the episode has ended. Even my husband could not also believe. He was insisting that it was still early. I explained to him that Only You had ended last Friday so probably the schedule was adjusted instead of giving the slot to Nag-iisang Ikaw. After accepting to my self that Tayong Dalawa's episode was finished, I already turned off the TV. I don't want to add another addictive teleserye to my schedule. Tayong Dalawa is enough and once it ends, no more teleserye to watch. The stress Tayong Dalawa is giving me is more than enough LOL!Laugh

Unplanned Swimming Getaway

The initial plan was to have a day trip to Baguio last August 21 -we would leave Manila @ around 12 midnight of August 21 and we would leave Baguio around 6 pm of the same day. Worst come to worst, we might spend a night in Baguio if everybody would be too tired to travel home. This was my suggestion to my friend last August 16 because I knew that August 21 was a holiday and I was expecting the payment for the part-time work I've accepted. I gave my friend a heads -up regarding the status of my pay last Wednesday when we met at the prayer meeting. I told her that in case the money didn't arrive on Thursday morning, we might postpone our trip. Unfortunately, I didn't receive the payment. Of course, we can't go there without the money Grin

The whole day of Thursday, my mind was set that my daughter and I would just stay at home and probably just have a walk in the afternoon of the next day. Early evening of Thursday, my friend texted me and suggested that we just proceed with the trip but with a nearer location. She suggested to go to Subic, have some swimming and go for a joy-ride. I was really hesitant because of budget though I am sure that my daughter and my husband would really enjoy the swimming. She kept on convincing me and promised to shoulder a bigger slice on the expense. After conferring with my husband, we decided to go.

It was really fun for my daughter and my husband. They enjoyed swimming especially my daughter because even when we were about to go home she was still insisting to swim. And I enjoyed watching them. This was also the first time my daughter to bath in the rain.

After the swimming we went to Club Morocco. The place is undoubted beautiful before but now, the place lost its life. The place is very lonely. I only noticed a guest or two and even the staffs were only few. According to my friend, the rates of this place is quite expensive. You can only get lower rates if you are a member. I don't know if the owner is still earning from this investment, but I am sure that the money invested in the place is really a big.

Anyway, I want to share with you some of the photos of our unplanned swimming trip.

This photo is quite deceiving. If you think Ska is standing by her own, you are wrong. My daughter was sitting on my husband's shoulder who was underwater.

Mommy Moments - Rain, Rain Go Away

mommy moments

This week's theme is Rain, Rain Go Away. This is a bit hard for me. I can't find the most appropriate photo for this week's theme. Anyway, the photos below are the nearest I can find.

As I shared with you before, my daughter has an acquired asthma. She's so sensitive with rain. If by accident she was showered with even just a drop of rain, next will be colds and fever, then her asthma attack. So whenever we need to go out and it is raining, she really need to be covered. If the destination is not church and it is raining, we prefer to stay home.

This photo was taken just recently, Sunday afternoon. We are about to go back to church to attend our evening worship service.
This was taken a year ago, Wednesday night. We were going to attend our midweek service.

Tayong Dalawa Fever

Tayong Dalawa is one of the Primetime Bida teleserye of ABS-CBN. This is the only TV program I watch regularly. How and when I started watching it, I can no longer remember. I just realized that this already part of my nightly routine, which is very unusual of me. I am a person who can live without TV because I am not really fond of watching TV shows. As a matter of fact, it was only early this year my husband and I bought a TV. For two years, we managed to live without a television.

Going back to "Tayong Dalawa," there are several reasons why I got enticed with this teleserye. First is, its fast-phase development of events. This is unusual for a Filipino teleserye if I am not mistaken. I was not able to watch it from the start. But since I started watching it, there were so many events and twists happened that most viewers didn't expect.

The first major event I remembered was the "death" of Dave or Lt. David Garcia Jr. Jake Cuenca, who played the role of Dave was out of scene for a week or so. My husband and I were speculating that the title was for Audrey and JR until it was shown on the commercial that Dave was still alive.

The second was when they discovered that Dave and JR were not half-brothers but real brothers and Marlyn is the true wife of David Garcia Sr. For me, this is the most draggy part that I almost quit watching the series.

The third was when Gretta, played by Alexandra de Rossi, accidentally shot JR. JR became critical and badly needed a kidney transplant which Dave took advantage to get Audrey back. When Audrey and Dave got married, many viewers, including me, were really disappointed. I was sure that there will be twist in the end. I was telling my husband that probably, Dave signed in behalf of JR since they have one name. My hope almost died until the time Dave wanted to bring Audrey in US and discovered that their marriage was not performed by a real judge and their marriage contract was not filed. Though my assumption was wrong, I am still right that there is a twistGIVE MEH SMILES hahaha...

Another memorable event was the death of Mamita played by the respectable Helen Gamboa. Because of her death, JR was imprisoned. The change in Gerald's character suited him. He looked more masculine when he shaved his hair hehehe... But I felt really sad that Mamita's role was so short.

Then, the death of Ramon Lecumberri and the revelation of Uñango's identity. I was sure that time that Ramon was still alive although I was having a second thought that maybe Niko betrayed him to save himself. Niko's role is now bigger than I thought he will be. I thought he will remain just a sidekick of Ramon. Recently, it was revealed that he was Uñango's adopted son. His role as a loyal friend was replaced by a traitor.

This series is about to end this week, I thought. While it was being aired last night, the schedule of "Nag-iisang Ikaw" was being flashed. But I was wondering how can the station end this series in two more days based on the current scenes. Will this end abruptly just to end? I don' think that will be a good decision. If it will end, the ending should be a good one so the viewers will not be disappointed.

Cheers to the viewers of "Tayong Dalawa" because it is not the one which will end this Friday. It is Only You that needs to say goodbye! But I don't also want "Tayong Dalawa" to last long. I hope it will end on the time that it has to end, and I hope it will be soon so I can already stop watching TV again!

WFW - Philippians 4:19

Last Sunday, during our morning worship service, my daughter fell asleep on my arms while I was carrying her. And while she was on my arms, I noticed that all she's wearing were given to her, from the dress to her shoes. And this verse came into my mind that moment.

God is true to His every Word. No promise is left unfulfilled. He knows our every need even before we ask. And He is so faithful to provide them and sometimes, He grants us even our wants.

I am thankful that I came to know Christ and I am complete in Him.

Mellow Yellow Monday # 2 - Special Kids on Yellow

MellowYellowMondayBadge
I was scanning my photo repository when my eyes scanned these pictures. These were taken during one of the inter-school activities for special children. And yes, my youngest brother is a special child and loves to participate on this kind of activity. He has a mild down syndrome. He is the the boy with eye glasses on the first photo.

They maybe special in so many ways, but they can do things normal people can do. It was only sad that here on Philippines, the government does not have that much support and program for them.

Top Commenter Reward

Blog hopping is one of the responsibilities included when a person entered the world of blogging. It is an activity in which a blogger visits the sites of other people (especially those who are in their blog roll), reading their posts and leaving a valuable comment. This isn't actually an easy task based on my experience. Aside from the time I allot in jumping from one blog to another and reading their posts, the most difficult part is to leave a worthy comment especially if I can't relate to the post they made. So there are times that though I visited a blog, I don't leave any footprints Grin. Forgive me. But I find it more unfair to pretend that I can relate but in fact I can't. Realizing this fact, I am planning to give honor to my monthly top commenter by giving her/his a reward.

This is not a contest but simply my way of saying thank you for the effort and time spent by the commenter to visit my blog and shared his/her idea.GIVE MEH SMILES The badge of the top commenter of the month will be place on my advertisement section. For the entire month, his/her button will occupy my 125x125 slot.

But this is the problem. Since I plan to do it on a monthly basis, I need to reset the count of the comments every month. The thing is, I don't know how to do itSO YOU DID KILL MAH CAT. I've been searching for the tweak this afternoon but can't find it. If someone knows how to do it, please share it with me and I will greatly appreciate it.

Since Mommy Chris of The Mommy Journey and Inspirational Insights is the current top commenter, one of her badge is now posted on the section. Her badge will run until the end of September. The next top commenter will be rewarded on the first day of October. Hopefully by that time, I already figure out how to reset the count of the comments.

Mommy Chris is one of the first bloggers who added my links on her list. Because of my memory gap, I can't remember how I landed to her site. But since then, I isit her site often because I find her posts informative and inspiring.

Mommy Chris, I really appreciate your effort and your time for frequently visiting my site. Though we haven't since each other yet, I consider you as one of my dearest friends in blogosphere.

Internet Access Slow Down

Do you notice a tremendous slow down on your internet connection? Because I do. Why should I not notice it, more than twelve hours of my daily life is spent in front of my computer and internet connection is a very important tool for me to do my daily work. Without the internet connection, I won't be able to do anything. This is the heartbeat of my job as a senior developer.

I started to notice the slowdown after the storm Kiko few days ago. If I am not mistaken, the same storm cause a hotel in Taiwan to collapse. As a matter of fact, not only my internet connection at home is experiencing a drastic slow down but also our connection in the office and also my officemate's connection at home. I brought up this issue with my client in US last night because me and my teammates are really having a hard time just loading a single page of our project. Hence, slowing down the progress of our project.

He gave me a this link http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9136558/Update_Asian_undersea_cable_disruption_slows_Internet_access?taxonomyId=16, in which it was reported that the a segment of the Asia-Pacific Cable Network 2 (APCN2) undersea cable network between China and Taiwan suffered a serious cable fault causing Internet traffic to be rerouted onto other undersea cables and slowing Internet access for some users in Southeast Asia. If I correctly recall it last 2006, same incident happen in which a powerful earthquake off the southern coast of Taiwan damaged several cables and slowed Internet access to a crawl for users in Southeast Asia.

But the slowdown started late last week and this undersea cable problem was only report last Wednesday. Now, I am thinking if this is really the cause of the slow down. Maybe, but was only discovered last Wednesday. So if you experience a slow down, we are on the same boat. We can just hope that whatever the cause of the slow down will be fixed soon.

Late Night Peace

Obviously, it is already late, but believe it or not, I am still fully-awake. Since it is already late, all of the people living in the four corner of our house are now fast asleep, all except me. The silence of the night is deafening so I logged on to imeem.com using my husband's account to listen to some songs. Unfortunately, imeem.com now is way different from the imeem.com that I knew and used before. I couldn't find the collection of songs I bookmarked before and whenever I tried to search there was an ad window kept on popping up. And when I finally found an interesting song, I couldn't play the entire song, unlike before. The song can only be played for thirty second. This made me feel sad.

So I jumped out of imeem.com and ask Mr. Google what other sites offer free music streaming. To my dismay, the top sites on the search result do not offer free streaming to our country . Should I get mad to this music streaming companies who offer services to other countries except my country? Nah. They own their company and they can do whatever they want with their company. They can serve whoever they want to serve and offer their products to whom they want to offer them. And if they don't see Philippines as a market, it is their right and choice. Getting mad on them wouldn't do me any good but simply ruin my mood. The best thing I could do is close the browser and go back to Mr. Google.

While trying to hit the search button again, I remembered the e-radio station which my husband added to our favorite list long time ago. I tried to access the site and I was so happy to know that it is still working.

I found peace on the songs played and blessed with the message delivered over the e-radio. I find it peaceful to hear familiar hymns, they comfort my soul. Once again, God showered me with spiritual blessings through His message.

WFW - Hebrews 9:27

This is supposed to be posted last Wednesday but because of my unpredictable schedule, I was not able to finish it.

The death and burial of our late president, Mrs. Corazon C. Aquino, were still fresh in the minds and hearts of most Filipinos, especially to those who are really close to the her. And not too long ago, the world was surprised (or should I say shocked?) by the death of the famous "King of Pop", Michael Jackson.

Death is truly painful, as a matter of fact, any form of parting is painful. But if we take a look on the Word of God, we will know that death is inevitable. All of us will soon face death; when, how, and where are the questions we don't know the answer yet. But aside from our physical death, there is one thing that is more important which we need to prepare for, the JUDGMENT. Just like death, all of us will be judged after we die physically. The question we need to ask ourselves is how prepare are we for the JUDGMENT day?

I can't remember the reason why my daughter was laughing with all her heart on this photo. But I find the way she laughed here very funny. Her faces was really different from her other photos. She just recovered from her sickness when the photo was taken and her hair was not yet fully grown after we bald her after her first birthday. This is the reason why she looked hilarious on this picture.

Mommy Moments - Part Of The Family

mommy moments

Today is Friday again! Excited to see other Mommy Moment's entry? Head to The Mommy Journey for more fun-filled entries!

This week theme is all about our kid's favorite cousin, aunt, uncle or godparent. So today, I will feature my daughter's favorite ninong (godfather), Daryl.

Daryl is a family-friend and hubby's kababayan, a Mindanaoan. He is a full-time worker in our church. He is our pianist, a good pianist as a matter of fact. He is always visits my daughter whenever he is free. He showered my daughter with so many sweet little things, from books, cds, colors, stickers to huggable stuff toys. When my daughter was in the stage that she don't like guys, she would still come to Daryl. And now that my daughter can already say some words, she would usually utter Daryl's name but with little variation. Instead of Daryl, my daughter call him Darish.

When my hubby and I need to go somewhere and we can't bring my daughter with us, I am confident to entrust my daughter to Daryl because I know that he would take care of her as if her own.

Daryl is one of God's great blessing to our family. We consider him more than a friend. fFr us, he is part of our family.
